The
Olympic Sports Centre (OSC) is based
on the concept of ZOC entering into
a co-operation agreement with a
given institution in order to centralize
and effectively implement the various
ZOC programmes and activities. The
operational costs of the OSC are
the responsibility of ZOC, however,
a key aspect of the agreement is
the initial reliance on facilities
and services already available at
the institution as the establishment
of new infrastructure may take quite
a long time because of high cost
implications. PE was selected as
the appropriate location of the
OSC for a number of reasons including
being a central location with sound
infrastructure and management; having
a wide range of appropriate facilities,
good image, a strong sports culture
and proven quality service.
